Anita graduated from Murdoch University in Western Australia in 2012. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia in 2013. Anita’s legal practice has preliminarily been specific to Family Law matters incuding property and financial matters; parenting matters; divorce and family violence restraining orders. Anita has extensive Family Law experience and including the preparation and reivew of financial agreements. Anita has participated in a large number of successful mediations; and advocated for clients in the Family Court for both interim and final hearings. Anita commenced working for Butlers in August 2019. Prior to that, Anita pioneered an award winning program providing legal advice and advocacy to women who are homeless as a result of family violence. These women have high complex needs, are often culturally diverse and greatly disadvantaged.
As a result of her work, Anita was a finalist of the following awards: Lawyers Weekly, Women in Law Awards Not-for-profit Lawyer of the Year (2018); and Women Lawyers of Western Australia, Women Lawyer of the Year (2019).
Anita’s approach to Family Law disputes is to assist her clients in understanding the process and give them tools to help themselves. She is mindful of the impact separation can have on a client and aims to reach a resolution in the most efficient and effective manner. Outside the office, Anita is a member of various Human Rights Network Groups, where she works to proactively raise awareness on various social and human rights issues. Anita is also a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Western Australia, and Women Lawyers of Western Australia.
