Rachel has a variety of experience conducting matters in all criminal jurisdictions in Western Australia. She regularly appears for bail and sentencing hearings in the Magistrates Court, and often briefs counsel in relation to complex criminal offences.

Prior to joining Butlers, Rachel spent several years clerking for prominent criminal defence barristers at Albert Wolff Chambers whilst completing her qualifications. Throughout this experience, Rachel gained an in-depth understanding of criminal law, and assisted counsel with a variety of serious matters, including Supreme, District and Magistrates Court proceedings for offences involving historical sexual assault, drugs, homicide and assault. She has also assisted on a number of criminal appeals in the Court of Appeal. Prior to completing her law degree, Rachel also volunteered at the Mental Health Law Centre for a number of years which further developed her interpersonal skills and strategies for assisting clients with severe mental health issues.

Rachel is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and the Law Society of Western Australia.
