Prior to joining Butlers, Lauren was the Associate to the Honourable Justice Corboy and the Honourable Justice Jenkins at the Supreme Court of Western Australia for four years. In this role, she gained invaluable experience as she assisted their Honours in preparing for hearings such as trials and sentencing, drafting judgments, conducting legal research, and liaising with counsel and various prosecuting agencies. She assisted their Honours with a variety of criminal matters including numerous high profile homicide matters, arsons, armed robberies, drug importations and dangerous sex offender hearings.
Lauren started her legal career in 2008, when she attained the requisite qualifications to commence practising as a lawyer in the United Kingdom, she successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Criminal Justice (Honours) from Liverpool John Moores University and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law. She was also a qualified Police Station Representative, Accredited by Legal Aid UK.
In 2012, she moved to New York City for 12 months where she worked as a Legal Analyst and Foreign Law Clerk and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in International Business Practice
Upon returning to the UK in 2013, she worked as a criminal law clerk and police station representative where she assisted counsel in criminal defence matters and represented accused persons in the police station for all categories of criminal offences.
Lauren also gained extensive experience in clerking for counsel throughout the UK, where she assisted with trials in various Crown Courts including the Old Bailey in London. She also gained invaluable experience in family, medical negligence and personal injury matters.
Lauren moved to Australia in 2016, where she completed the requisite qualifications to practice in Western Australia, including her Bachelor of Laws and Diploma of Legal Practice and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in May 2020.
Outside of her legal career, Lauren has taken part in various charitable and pro-bono activities such as the Court Advocates Program (NYC), the Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort (NYC), Rights of Street Vendors Advocate (NYC), Tomorrows Women (UK) as well as mentoring at the Achievers Club WA.
Lauren is very excited to be joining Butlers Lawyers & Notaries and to assist clients in both criminal and family law.
